I'm a multimedia freelance journalist based in Bristol, UK. I specialise in local democracy, hyperlocal journalism and digital publishing. As a website editor, I combine print-first newsroom practices with strong online instincts to produce clear, accurate and engaging content across both platforms.

Lucy brings many qualities to her role as a reporter and website editor, but one in particular stands out - her ability to think independently. She regularly initiates story ideas, shows sound editorial judgement, and is always willing to go the extra mile. These are the traits that separate a competent journalist from an outstanding one.

Lucy has become a valued and trusted member of the Voice team. Her skills, drive and personality will undoubtedly take her far in journalism (but we don't want to lose her!)

Murder investigation launched in Filton - Filton Voice

Avon and Somerset Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 20s was found fatally injured in a garden near a path that runs behind the houses on Cleve Road. 


Emergency services were called to the scene in the early hours of Thursday 9 April however it is believed that he had died several hours earlier on Wednesday 8 April. 


A forensic post-mortem examination is due to take place shortly, but the next of kin have been informed.

Have Just Eat robots changed the delivery industry forever? Probably not.


Residents might have seen the orange, four‐wheeled robots struggling to navigate the double‐ parked pavements of Filton, as Just Eat launched their new robotics trial in mid February.


The trial follows in the footsteps, or tyre marks, of Switzerland, where nearly 1,000 deliveries have already been completed, and Just Eat claims that robot and drone technology has significant advantages to delivering to remote areas....

Filton Festival to mark Concorde milestone - Filton Voice

To honour the 50th anniversary of the first commercial flight of the Concorde, planning company Deryncoch has begun outlining the agenda of this year’s annual Filton festival.


Aeronautical-themed activities such as plane displays, aerial acrobats and air-themed fairground rides were all mentioned at a recent council meeting, as plans continue to take shape.

'Successful' advice centre set to continue - Filton Voice

Filton Town councillors unanimously agreed to continue funding a Citizen Advice drop-in service following its success since launching in September.


The service provides free and confidential advice with a trained advisor. Residents can attend a session without an appointment to discuss issues such as, but not limited to, benefits, debt, cost-of- living issues, domestic abuse and employment issues.

Police probe Fiat petrol station ram-raid - Filton Voice

Police were called to the Tesco Esso Express garage in Gloucester Road North at the end of January after a Fiat 500 ram raided the shop.


Officers are currently investigating the incident, which happened at around 10.40pm on January 24, and involved the small city car reversing into the store. There were three suspects involved in the incident.


Two unknown suspects got out of the vehicle, leaving a third in the car.

Aviva Arena name agreed in new major multi-million deal - Filton Voice

A multi-million pound sponsorship deal has been struck, securing a new name for Filton’s planned 20,000-capacity arena.


The landmark agreement between developers YTL and major insurer Aviva will now see the entertainment venue named Aviva Arena. The partnership marks a major  milestone in the delivery of the 20,000-capacity venue, which is expected to open late 2028.

Liam bags silver in world kickboxing champs - Filton Voice

Filton resident Liam Holden has secured a silver medal representing Team GB at his first WAKO World Kickboxing Championships for seniors and masters, which took place in Abu Dhabi in November.

Residents left in a 'ghost town' as flats demolition looms - Filton Voice

Residents remaining in the flats at Church View say they have been left living in a “ghost town” as neighbours move out around them.


Bromford Housing Association (BHA) originally announced the regeneration plans for the building in November 2024, however some households have yet to be relocated.

Council's £800k plan to boost key Filton locations - Filton Voice

Filton Town Council is proposing to borrow £800,000 to fund a series of community projects.


At a recent Finance and Scrutiny meeting, councillors agreed a budget ahead of the full council meeting on January 27.

Who am I?

I'm Lucy Frost, a freelance multimedia journalist, website editor and advertiser based in Bristol, UK.

I grew up in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, but moved to Bristol in 2023 for university. Typically, I cover stories in Filton and North Bristol, given my current position at Filtonvoice.

I am a passionate journalist who loves to write. Some of my other interests include live music and film  photography, you may have noticed some of my snaps hidden in my website...

What have I done?

I'm currently working at Filtonvoice as a reporter, advertiser and website editor, check out my 'articles' page and read some of my stories. 

Alongside my work at Filtonvoice, I work part-time at Tesco, which supports me financially while I complete my degree.

I also volunteer at LifeSkills Bristol, an interactive safety education centre, on a weekly basis.

Where am I studying?

I am currently in my final year of university, where I study BA(hons) Media Production (Journalism) at the University of the West of England (UWE).

Previously, I studied at City of Bristol college, where my passion for journalism began. I was awarded a distinction in a Level 3 Media Production course, where I predominantly made short documentaries.

Key Achivements

My first published article!


Another key achievement for me was seeing my first article in print (while working a close shift at Tesco!) It was extremely rewarding to see the publication that I contributed towards stocked at my part-time job.





Becoming Website Editor

A major milestone in my career so far has been working as the website editor for Filtonvoice. While Filtonvoice is a print-first publication, it has been fulfilling to watch the traction on the website grow and engage in discourse on social media regarding the stories.


YTL Arena naming event

On 19 February, I attended the YTL arena naming event at the Aerospace Museum, Filton. The event hosted numerous speeches regarding YTL's partnership with Aviva to deliver the widely anticipated arena, due to to open in late 2028.
