I'm Lucy Frost, a freelance multimedia journalist and advertiser based in Bristol, UK.

I grew up in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, but moved to Bristol in 2023 for university. Typically, I cover stories in Filton and North Bristol, given my current position at Filton Voice.

I have worked as a reporter for Filton Voice since November 2025. Filton Voice is a print-first monthly publication that shares local stories and news on a hyper local basis.

My portfolio of work with Filton Voice is varied, I often report on council meetings and local success stories but I am not limited to that. See my 'articles' page, where I have attached reviews, profiles and local democracy stories.

In February 2026, I led the relaunch of the Filton Voice website, after it was dormant for six months. Through this experience, I have developed skills such as search engine optimisation (SEO) and using a professional social media account.

Additionally, I have recently started advertising for the Voices Network, supporting business advertise across up to 18 hyperlocal publications, ensuring adverts are safe and legal.

Alongside my position at Filton Voice, I work a part-time job at Tesco Esso Express in Filton, which supports me financially while I complete my degree.

Recently, I have begun volunteering at LifeSkills Bristol on a weekly basis. LifeSkills is an interactive saftey education centre, providing immersive, real-life scenarios to teach life-saving skills to children and vulnerable adults. As a volunteer, I take a group round the immersive village where visitors learn to manage risks such as 999 calls, fire safety and accident prevention.

I am currently in my final year of university, where I study BA(hons) Media Production (Journalism) at the University of the West of England (UWE).

Previously, I studied at City of Bristol college, where my passion for journalism began. I was awarded a distinction in a Level 3 Media Production course, where I predominantly made short documentaries.

Lucy brings many qualities to her role as a reporter and website editor, but one in particular stands out - her ability to think independently. She regularly initiates story ideas, shows sound editorial judgement, and is always willing to go the extra mile. These are the traits that separate a competent journalist from an outstanding one.

Lucy has become a valued and trusted member of the Voice team. Her skills, drive and personality will undoubtedly take her far in journalism (but we don't want to lose her!)

In February, I became the website editor for Filtonvoice. I schedule articles and post on social media.

I attend Filton Town Council meetings monthly, reporting on issues raised by councillors and the community.

Recently, I have began advertising with Filtonvoice. This has helped me gain a rounded understanding of the whole publication progress.
